Imagine seeing the big picture of God at work in the Pacific,
transforming lives through the Bible.
Imagine working together as Bible engagement workers
to be more effective for God’s kingdom.
Solesolevaki is not a conference. It won’t feel like any event you’ve been to before. Alongside some planned input and activities, large parts of the schedule will be set aside for discussing and developing topics and ideas chosen by participants during the event. You will have the time to build relationships with other Bible engagement practitioners, to share your successes and challenges, and to dream about how we can partner with one another for the sake of God’s kingdom.
Christian Bible Engagement workers in the Pacific love God and God’s word, the Bible. We work hard to help others do the same. And we are not alone! Many people are using many ways to help people see and hear, understand and respond to what God is saying through the Bible.
Solesolevaki means ‘a community working together’. We want to bring together Bible Engagement workers to share what God is doing in their part of the Pacific and to be inspired by what God is doing in other places. We want to be refreshed and to grow as a community of Bible Engagement workers. We want God to show us how we can accomplish more in Bible engagement by working together than we can by working alone.

Information for Participants
Dear Solesolevaki friends,
Hello! We are excited to welcome you to join the Solesolevaki gathering!
Who are we all? When/where do we engage people with the Bible?
There are Solesolevaki participants who open the Bible in schools, in prisons, in free public events, in churches, on camps with children, young people, families and whole communities. Our conversations and workshops will be rich!
What will our time in Fiji look like?
Solesolevaki is not a standard conference. We get 4 days together with fellow bible engagers/workers. It most likely won’t feel like events you’ve been to before. There will be some planned input and activities, however large parts of the schedule will be spent discussing issues, developing topics and ideas chosen by us, the participants. This is because our experiences, knowledge and passions are valuable and useful to others. We will have the time to build relationships with one another, each of us has various and creative ways of helping people open the Bible and know God. Having had the chance to share successes and challenges we will dream and plan ways to partner with one another for the sake of God’s Kingdom.
What are we doing to get ready?
So that we can quickly get to work when we are together in Fiji, we have 3 zoom meetings before the event for participants to meet and start to dream a little. We will introduce ourselves, share stories about our work and experiences. We will also build a sense of what we might be able to create once we are gathered.
You should have received an email with the details of the Zoom meetings.
Where will we stay?
It is a 3+hr bus trip from Nadi on the south of the island. Dormitory accommodation is included in your fee. (There’s other shared room options, but you’d need to cover the extra cost.)
Everyone will be responsible for their own Nadi motel accommodation before and after the actual conference, if that is needed.
There will be a bus to take you to the campsite on Sunday afternoon or late Monday afternoon. You can take the one that fits with your arrival time. Buses will return us all to Nadi on Saturday morning. This transport is covered by the conference fee.

Who is inviting you on the journey?
The people who have been developing this vision over the last two years are from 5 different organisations. We are; Ledua Turaganivalu (Bible Society South Pacific), Teupola Waqainabete (Bible Society South Pacific), Naomi Swindon (Scripture Union Australia), Josh Bartlett (Wycliffe Australia), Bethann Carlson (SIL), Greg Carlson (SIL), Maryanne Cameron (Bible Society Australia). But we believe it’s God who is inviting us to come together!
Many friends are praying for us. May God bless you as you work and look forward to Solesolevaki. He has wonderful plans for us and for the blessing of many through it!
Much grace,
The Solesolevaki team.
